Abigail Adams as a Typical Massachusetts Woman at the Close of the Colonial Era

This academic thesis examines the life of First Lady Abigail Adams in relation to the close of the 18th century. Abigail Adams was both the wife of second President John Adams and the mother of sixth President John Quincy Adams. She was the first First Lady to live in the White House, and she assumed an active role as an informal advisor to the President during her term.
