By the Fire

Sadie is back in Gingerbread Mountain, hoping to reconnect with her roots. She hasn't seen her father since her parents' divorce, and part of her is hoping they can reconnect.

But when she gets to the old family cabin, it's abandoned. Her dad's nowhere in sight. It's not surprising. Nothing about the trip went well. Her car made it from Florida to Washington and gave out on her a mile from the cabin, and now she can't get the fireplace going.

She's certain she's going to freeze to death.

While Sadie's trying to figure out how to start a fire, there's a knock on the door, followed by two very familiar voices.

Her dad's best friends.

By the Fire is a standalone Christmas why choose novella set in Gingerbread Mountain, WA.
