‘Call’ to PotoMAC
A Timothy Beckon novel
Publisher Description
Timothy Becket is at it again, answering a call to work personnel security. This time in Washington, DC. Maybe it will put away past years of imprisonment and ensure a better life. But, it’s also an opportunity to clear a former cellmate’s murder conviction. Tim is mixed-race, serious-looking, and physically impressive. He’s young and catching-up on social maturity. Although he has high expectations for this next ‘call,’ the unexpected greets him in many ways.
Colorful characters become a part of his new life. In DC, he goes on board with MAC Security Consulting and is mentored by a crime-savvy ex-cop, entertained by a warm but flirty secretary, and aided by a street-wise youth who models after him. Though he hopes to reunite with a fleeting amorous person from the past, as things turn-out, he enters the life of a captivating Cornelia (Nellie) Finn.
During this ‘call,’ Tim is stunned by an attractive woman who holds the key to a supposed murder mystery. He gets mangled by a couple of real bad guys who end-up tossing him on a garbage heap. Mending takes time so he opts to visit his best friend from past adventures. He comes back in full force and vengeance. Before he can wipe away the sweat, he offers to do the near-impossible—track down the killer of Cornelia’s sister. “After all,” he assures her, “That’s something I know I can do.”
