Challenging Gender Roles

Around the world, women and girls too often have to deal with the daily reality of poverty, violence, lack of education and poor healthcare, simply because they are female. Here in the UK, in just the last few decades we have made great progress towards achieving equality between the sexes, but there are still problems to be tackled: the average pay gap between men and women is 21%, and even though over half of the population are women, only 22.2% of Members of Parliament are female.
