When Iris Muir accepts a position at historic Dorchadas House, on the tiny island of Eirig, she hopes to escape the burdens of her past. However, as autumn wanes and Samhain Eve approaches, her dreams become increasingly disturbed. 

The island folk are preparing to honour the dead, as they have for generations past, and Iris begins to feel that something more than chance has drawn her to the windswept isle.
