Gifts and Rewards From God

Distinguishing between the gifts which God graciously and freely gives to those who have faith in Christ Jesus as their Saviour, and the rewards which he may or may not give, depending upon a Christian’s works and service, will help us gain a better understanding of various verses in the Bible.

 

The Scriptures speak of such gifts as forgiveness, salvation, eternal life and righteousness for those who trust in the Lord Jesus. However, Christians have further responsibilities with respect to God and their fellow men. If those responsibilities are discharged faithfully, then there will be a reward, a prize or even a crown.
