Publisher Description

"Haunted by the President's Statue", is one of the stories in our writing series "The Haunts of Life"

"Haunted by the President Statue", tells the story of a set of twins going through the challenges of a war.  Life for Toca and Fomo is suddenly taking a harsh turnaround as the conflict degenerates to its worst. Their parents are separated from them, and they are left in the family compound living with a statute of the President of Kuakartonae Land.  .

Seven months into the conflict, Kratan the feared soothsayer visits President Owaledo at the presidential palace and warns him that in two months, a picture of his will be buried while he is still alive which will signify his doom.

Toca and Fomo receive a smuggled letter from their parents still residing in the dissident's control area.  In the letter they are instructed to allow the burial of President Owaledo's statute as a ritual act by the dissidents. Unfortunately for the lads, on the same night of the statute's burial, an inquiry on the whereabouts of the statute is made by the militiamen of President Owaledo and the lads are fleeing for their lives the next morning.
