West L.A. Five friends and a dog named Gooch. The grid goes down and everything stops. And it's not coming back. These are normal people. Not preppers. Not survivalists. Not ex-Special Forces. And they’re caught in the worst place they could be, surrounded by marauding gangs and a collapsing society where millions will soon be desperate and dying. 

 

Young, fit, but ill-prepared, their choices are few and stark. Their only out appears to be Jeremy’s parents’ place in southern Utah. But to reach it, they must escape the urban jungle, cross 350 miles of the driest desert in North America.
