Pollyanna Grows Up

Pollyanna, now twenty, comes back from Germany to a Beldingsville that has changed: the aunt who took her in is poor, the boy she knew is grown, and the glad game is harder to play with a mortgage in the house. Eleanor H. Porter wrote the sequel in 1915 after the first book had become one of the best-sellers of its day. The optimism is tested here rather than displayed.
