Publisher Description
We all know Raggedy Ann, the sweet little rag doll who helps everyone. Now, we meet Raggedy Andy. He is the Raggedy Ann’s little brother. Isn’t that great? He looks like his sister, but his hair is shorter and he wears a hat, and he is dressed in a sailor suit.
One day he arrives in the mail at the office of Marcella’s father. He is a sweet little rag doll, as his sister. He has a cheery smile which he shows all the time. Immediately upon his arrival, he is reunited with his sister. She introduces him to the other dolls in Marcella’s nursery, which give him a very warm welcome. After that, Raggedy Ann starts a pillow fight and a taffy pull. And then, their adventures begin.
On their adventures, Raggedy Andy shows his generosity, bravery, helps the others and makes them feel better.
As in the Raggedy Ann book, here also we have the French doll, Fido, Henny the Dutch doll. But, there are some new characters, like Santa Clause, the Easter bunny and a beautiful seashell.
In this book, you will find all of their adventures gathered together and will have a double enjoyment reading about them. The stories apart from their fun element have a moral value, which teaches your children to be generous, kind and help the others.
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
If these dolls could talk... well, they can (sort of), on the reissued Raggedy Ann Stories by Johnny Gruelle, read by Cicely Tyson. Spunky Raggedy Ann takes charge of all the dolls in young Marcella's nursery and creates a series of adventures that include venturing to the pantry for a snack, rescuing Fido, the family dog, from the dogcatcher, and surviving a trip through the boiling-water washer-and a good scrubbing on the washboard.
