In Romancing the Gold, follow Megan and Joseph as they thwart a smuggling ring, escape danger, and find love in the jungle. Excited to be on an archaeological dig in Peru, Megan McKinley hopes to find something interesting and finish her master's degree so she can work at the Smithsonian. However, she and a friend are held up at gunpoint. Luckily, Joseph Logan, the crew's handsome photographer, scares off the robbers. She realizes behind the beard, he's the teacher she had a crush on years ago, and he still stirs feelings in her. However, he has his own agenda, to stay undercover and unmask smugglers.
Thrilled to find a golden plate, she suspects her professor is selling artifacts instead of turning them over to the museum sponsoring the excavation. Her attraction to Joseph heats up as he tells her she's beautiful and saves her from thugs who keep turning up, even as he and she explore Machu Picchu.
