Strawberry Logic

It’s July, 1975, and twenty-one year old Susan McGinnis is on a mission of self-discovery at her parent’s cabin on beautiful Higgins Lake. Her second thoughts about her upcoming marriage are turning into third thoughts when she encounters a runaway Chippewa boy, struggling to land a pike on her neighbor’s dock. Almost seventeen, savvy, and self-sufficient, he soon challenges everything she thought she believed.     

After he offers an act of kindness, Susan fears that she’s chased him away and spends late nights drinking and dreading the arrival of her fiancée. Blissfully reuniting with the boy, she then secures a job at a local ranch where she learns about self-reliance and horses; one in particular who steals her heart.  

Exploring unimagined emotions, she meets a strangely alluring, auburn-haired girl with a delicate malfunction.  

As events unfold, Susan is forced to confront the one person she’s never understood - herself. Will she ever learn to trust, and just what is Strawberry logic? With the help of an aging ranch hand, a road-hardened exotic dancer, and her darling friends, she’s about to learn that one summer can change your entire life.
