Tales of Asculum is an introduction to the world of Asculum, the setting for the books by V.J.O. Gardner

After the people of Glynis fled a dying world they found themselves stranded on the world of Asculum. When the technology that they brought to Asculum failed, they were forced to learn to live without him. They began to seek out the inhabitants of this world to learn how to live on a planet that appears to be stuck in medieval times while concealing their magical talents.

Fanchon is a young man who has tried many trades, but none seem to suit him. Although he masters the skills readily enough, he soon begins instructing his master on more efficient ways of doing things. When he realizes he doesn't have a future in Glynis, he decides to leave and a group of his friends decide to come with him

V.J.O. Gardner's books have been drawing attention from around the world. Although these books are written for young adults, there is no graphic sex or violence and no foul language. While they are appropriate for anyone age 10 and up, a wide range of readers have loved them.
