This book compliments Talk About Aphasia. It provides a more in depth look at how language works. It helps provide an understanding of both cognitive-neuro linguistic and social models of language. This understanding can help people with Aphasia plan their goals and understand why certain therapy tasks work.

It is written in an Aphasia Friendly style to promote Communication Access.

Understanding is supported by: prioritised key words, grammatically accessible sentence structures, interactive pictures, audio and video. Expression is supported via 'drag and drop' and 'mark it' images. A 'draw it expression space is also available on most pages.

This book aims to be accessible to people with mild to severe aphasia.
