Captain Robert Butler a womanizer and pirate has sailed the seas since he was a boy. His father thinks it is time for him to come home and run his estate in England. But first he should marry the young woman his father has chosen for his bride. She is the daughter of his friend.

On his trip from China, Captain Butler stops on the families's island to meet his obligation. His plan is to wed and bed her, and leave on the evening tide without his blushing bride. His plan goes awry when his wife stows away on his ship dressed as a boy.
