A short story. A deep-space exploration crew is hired to locate a long-lost generation ship, one of countless expeditions searching the stars for treasures that may not even exist.

Instead, they discover something impossible: an ancient civilization on the brink of disaster and a secret buried for millennia beneath the surface of a forgotten world.
