The Lonely

Despite her best efforts, Easter Deetz has found herself trapped by a boulder, bleeding to death in the woods.

And it’s all her mother’s fault.

For one thing, it was her mother’s other daughter, Julia, who dropped the boulder on Easter in the first place.

Secondly, the reason Julia dropped the boulder on her is because Easter has inherited her mother’s illness: The Lonely. A debilitating condition which makes people sad and makes them lie and makes them so annoying that people want to crush them with boulders.

But Easter learns something while she’s dying in the woods. Even though The Lonely is an inherited, unavoidable malady, there is in fact, a cure.

And with the help of a few squirrels, Easter might be able to find it.
