Publisher Description
Theodosia Burr Alston left Charleston, South Carolina in December 1812 bound for New York and a visit with her father. Aaron Burr had only recently returned from France. Theodosia had only recently lost a baby. The schooner Patriot was filled with grain and a single passenger on board. Somewhere off the coast of North Carolina the small ship was lost. My e-book looks at conflicting weather reports for the weeks before and after December 30, 1812. One of them records a major storm that raged up and down the Atlantic Coast. Another reported that there was no inclimate weather for several weeks before and after the disappearance of the Patriot.
