Publisher Description

‘What is the time?’ is a play originally written for the 2006 BBC Playwright Competition. The whole story takes place in the Rio de Janeiro City, in Brazil. It is about lawyer who has spontaneous enconteurs with the spiritual world. In these encounters, a dead woman from the past has with him some apparently meanless conversation. As the story develops, it is revealed that she has had a child with a communications tycoon, when she was alive of course. Now the child´s father is also dead. With some hard work, doing some research in his field, he discovers the child and heiress, in a Rio de Janeiro slum. Consequently, a battle starts between the tycoon’s surviving legitimate wife, her son and the emerging heiress. Each one wants the share of what the tycoon left.

To write this story, I profited from some research in the mystical, spiritual literature, from my psycho-analysis experience as a patient. Like the character, I also have a Law Degree. Prior to that, I graduated at the Faculty of Letters. I have been an English teacher for many years. At the present, I work as civil servant at the Tribunal Regional Eleitoral do Rio de Janeiro.

This story could be read or seen by people of all ages who have no prejudice against communication between the living and the dead. It is a good entertainment.
