Women in the Civil War

This volume, the fifth in a nine-volume series about the Civil War, provides a less well-known view of the Civil War through the eyes of woman who served in many ways, including as spies, combatants, nurses, logistical, and other indirect support.  Included in this volume are works by Louisa May Alcott, Clara Barton, and Sarah Morgan Dawson and shorter works describing the works of more than a hundred brave women.
