Descripción editorial
Intended to be a companion book for the narrated Clear Tales podcast series Circus Jack.
Circus Jack is written and narrated for listeners with mild to moderate dementia. The ebook Circus Jack is an excellent companion to the podcast of the same name, allowing listeners to read along with the narration. The typeface is large, and the illustrations in the ebook further enhance the listener's experience.
Circus Jack is based on the hero’s journey. Not unlike Jack London's The Call of The Wild.
In the hero’s journey, there is a call to adventure. Along the way a mentor is discovered and unlocks special abilities to overcome difficulties along the hero’s journey. There are tests along the way and finally the hero returns from his journey triumphant.
In the late 1800’s there was a need for work dogs to be put into service for a growing country. This created an underground network of dog napping. Buck, the dog in Jack London’s story, was stolen from his home for his strength to deliver supplies to new settlements in the Yukon. Circus Jack also takes place in the 1800’s, and starts on a farm in Lancaster Pennsylvania. Peppy, the hero, has special talents that take him on an equally special journey.
