Descripción editorial
In the year 1751, young David Balfour leaves his father's house in Essendean with a letter of introduction to his uncle, Ebenezer Balfour of Shaws. Upon arriving, he finds the great house a half-finished ruin and his uncle a suspicious, miserly figure. David soon discovers he has been lured into a trap, kidnapped, and cast away at sea. His adventures lead him through shipwreck, a desert isle, and the wild Highlands, where he meets Alan Breck Stewart, a Jacobite with a fiery spirit. Together they flee across the heather, pursued by enemies, as David seeks to reclaim his inheritance and uncover the truth about his family.
