Mr. and Mrs. Medal of Honor

In early 2008, a secret NSA computer identified a hidden oasis in the Iraqi desert. Satellite imaging showed the oasis hosted a meeting of high-ranking Al Qaeda officials right before every major terrorist event. Computer models predict the group will meet there again. The lame-duck president wants only one man, Travis Novak, a highly educated army sniper who joined the army to avenge the death of his father, who died during an Al Qaeda bombing. Novak, who had previously been awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for bravery must deal with the elements, politics, boredom and an unproven hi-tech sniper hide hundreds of miles from the nearest reinforcements. When Al Qaeda kidnaps a female army lieutenant and brings her into the desert to capture her execution on video Novak must wrestle with his orders not to interfere and his instincts to save her. When Osama bin Laden and a shadowy prince who is the financier of Al Qaeda appear Novak must battle both the terrorists and the new administration in Washington with a new outlook on the role of the military in the war on terrorism.
