Suicide Excepted

At a quiet country hotel, a man's death appears to be an open-and-shut case of suicide. But when the verdict threatens to invalidate a valuable life-insurance policy, his family has a powerful reason to question what really happened.
Inspector Mallett, himself staying at the hotel, becomes drawn into the mystery as questions surrounding the death begin to emerge. What first appears to be suicide may conceal something far more complicated, involving hidden motives, family tensions, and a possible killer.
Suicide Excepted is a classic Golden Age mystery combining an intricate murder puzzle with English country-house atmosphere and Cyril Hare's characteristic knowledge of law and human nature.
