Unseen Ayckbourn

A guide to Alan Ayckbourn's rarely seen, unproduced and unwritten plays

Descripción editorial

Alan Ayckbourn has written more than 75 full length plays since 1959.

Unseen Ayckbourn, written by the playwright's Archivist Simon Murgatroyd, explores the rarely seen plays as well as those plays which have been unproduced or even unwritten. It looks at alternative versions and drafts of existing plays, concepts and ideas for plays both written and unwritten, the Grey plays, alternative titles and other ephemera.

The iPad edition is also the first version of the book to be illustrated and includes rarely seen material by Alan Ayckbourn, photographs and publicity materials held by the Ayckbourn Archive at the University Of York.

This edition of Unseen Ayckbourn also includes an in-depth look at the history of the musical Jeeves, an exclusive transcription of a 2010 talk by Alan Ayckbourn about his early writing as well as up-to-date listing for all his plays and writing as of 2012.

Simon Murgatroyd is Alan Ayckbourn's Archivist and the Administrator of the playwright's official website www.alanayckbourn.net.
