A Star of Ash: A Child of Magic

Freya is a kind, clever, yet anxious young girl secretly learning to harness Magic to alter the Rules of Reality. Her father, Kal, is a reclusive, disenfranchised veteran of the Second Grand Crusade, with scars that run further than the war, concealed even from his memories. Together, in their tiny hilltop home, Kal teaches Freya what little he knows of their Magic and is determined to protect her at all costs. Freya wishes to live a happy, peaceful life with her father and friends in town, hoping their Magical abilities remain undiscovered. Yet things inevitably change, and not always for the better.
