Excerpt from Chapter One
Alice sat by the pitiful trickle of water generously called a stream as her bay mare drank greedily. The Noonday sun beat down on them mercilessly in the Arizona desert. She looked over at the man lying next to her unconscious.
Alice filled her tin cup with water and threw it on the man. The outlaw’s eyes flew open. Immediately he reached for his revolver, but his holster was empty.
“Looking for something?” Alice asked, holding the man’s revolver. The revolver dangled from her finger curled through the trigger guard.
“What the hell? Give me back my gun, you stupid whore!”
Alice snapped her wrist. In one fluid movement, the revolver spun into her hand. Faster than the outlaw thought possible, Alice cocked and fired his gun, the bullet hit between his splayed legs, dangerously close to his prick.
“I don’t like your attitude,” Alice replies, her voice a couple of degrees above freezing. “You should be more polite to a lady. I don’t miss twice.” The outlaw nodded, unable to take his eyes from the hole left in the hard-packed earth from the bullet.
