Trouble with opium! For young Samuel Taylor Coleridge in 1797, this meant visions, visitations and unfinished poems. For Fiona Tanzer, over 200 years later, it meant re-envisioning Coleridge's mysterious visitor from Porlock and what took place in Xanadu - and finally completing Coleridge's renowned unfinished poem, Kubla Khan.

The ebook centres on the poem, Col’s Phantasm Speaks - the historic first completion of Coleridge’s famous fragmentary poem, Kubla Khan.

Col’s Phantasm Speaks is prefaced by a short story, Detained Above an Hour, which is loosely based on Coleridge’s encounter with the Person from Porlock and the outcome of that Person's visit.
