Nothing is as it seems.

Ander and Sashen may have escaped imprisonment at FBI headquarters, but they've landed in a whole different mess. Crossing to Fey, they realize elusive creatures have been pulling the strings, ones who manipulate time and memory. With Ander's teammates still lost, and Sashen's sister trapped in Wickwood, danger lurks in every shadow.

When they arrive in Ashentreach, complications shift into desperation for these enemies turned lovers. Citizens have been frozen in time, and the pair must set their affection for each other aside to uncover the origin of the crisis. Who is friend and who is foe is cast into doubt when unknown entities influence the past and forge new futures.

And meeting a lover's mother is always nerve wracking, but especially so when the queen charges the pair with brokering a truce with demons, for the Cassad Forest still burns and the walls between realms continue to crumble…
