There’s one reason I stay away from Lakewood.
His name is Scott Farnsworth.
Honestly, this town is the last place I want to be, but it’s out of my hands. I agreed to the weekend retreat at my family’s lake house to convince the board of my dad’s company of his last wishes.
The board resents me for it… is hate too strong a word?
I’ve got it all figured out. I’ll be in and out of Lakewood and no one will see me.

When I see Grace at the Lakeside Inn, it’s like a ghost flitting through from my past.
I’m horrified when my friend calls her over to our table.
What? Nooo! I try not to panic as she’s walking toward us and my heart remembers all the reasons I fell for her.

Then a murder changes everything.
