Jazz Improvisation For Saxophone, Book 2

In this lesson, you’ll learn patterns for building technical fluency with pentatonic scales. You’ll also learn some basic uses of minor pentatonic scales for improvisation. 


Near the end of the lesson, we’ll do a bit of “I play-you play” improvisation practice using a B flat minor play-along, so it will be helpful to have external speakers or ear buds available to provide moderate amplification for this portion of the lesson. The open play-along track is also included in the eBook, so you’ll be able to continue your improvisation practice without me.


Exercises and examples are included in concert pitch and transposed for tenor and alto saxes. You’ll find these in image galleries where you can select the appropriate transposition for your instrument and expand it to full size on your screen.
