Lingua Franca: A Common Language for Conservators of Photographic Materials is the first English-French visual glossary of photo conservation terms in enhanced eBook format created by Library and Archives Canada in collaboration with Atelier de Restauration et de Conservation des Photographies de la Ville de Paris. Lingua Franca contains six chapters of bilingual definitions of photographic processes, condition issues, treatment options, preventative care, technical studies and provenance. It contains commonly used terms, which are briefly defined and illustrated with photographs, videos and interactive features. This eBook is intended for conservation professionals, teachers, students and anyone interested in the field of photography. Each page contains a hyperlink to collection items and related links to podcasts, videos, blog posts and Flickr albums.
