The Dracomian knight, Palus, had only hoped to reach his comrades safely after events had taken him far from them. However, at the very moment of his return, his relief turns to dread, as a shadowy menace threatens not only him, but his fellow knights.

Yet, that menace proves to be but a precursor to a fouler danger threatening, not merely the Palus and his comrades, but the struggles of the allied kingdoms as they confront a war with the minotaur empire in which both sides are but pawns of the gods. Worse, one deity, especially, has taken an interest in Palus and the other knights, and, through her servants, has stretched out her hand in an attempt to lead them to disaster and doom. At the same, time, though, that has brought all to the attention of another god with an agenda of his own.

And in this war of wills between gods, Palus may find himself the puppet of both...
