Charles Kingsley was an English priest, historian and novelist, famous mostly for his works Hypatia, Hereward the Wake and Westward Ho! Seriously worried about modern social problems, Kingsley published his first novels Yeast and Alton Locke, comprising labour and social inequality issues. Due to his interest in history, Kingsley then turned to writing historical novels and achieved a great success after publishing his works Hereward the Wake and Westward Ho!
First published in 1852, Sermons on National Subjects is a unique collection of Charles Kingsley's sermons, written and preached during his career as a broad church priest.
A classic example of Kingsley's simply excellent style, this book is a real treasure. Enjoy the reading!
