Descripción editorial
A group of Quakers visited the Oceti Sakowin Prayer Camps on the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation in November of 2016. Photographer Jasmine Krotkov describes their experience of rooted virtue as practiced by the Lakota and their allies as they faced militarized police forces there to support the extractive capitalism of the Dakota Access Pipeline. Images of peaceful, prayerful protest meeting with disproportionate force speak of the power of spirit-led action.
