This story traces the pathways of two young people who have to make completely new lives for themselves after being excommunicated from an exclusive sect. This exile is for different reasons; they are of different ages and their excision occurs in different years. They must also make careers for themselves. It is when they meet and overcome their differences that romance blossoms. 

The narrative contains adult themes but not coarse language; it deals with the psychological travail of being left alone to fend for themselves, to adjust their whole belief system and ultimately to find genuine love and trust.
