Swedish Institute has been a pillar in New York City’s education foundation for over 100 years.  From our inception in 1916, to the adoption of the iPad a century later, our mission has always been to educate our students to become skilled and ethical healthcare professionals, and to provide them with innovative learning that is designed to meet the needs of an ever-evolving market. 


Swedish Institute’s commitment to innovation and forward-thinking has been hardwired into its DNA since day one. Not only was our school one of the earliest pioneers in massage therapy training, it was also a pivotal advocate for the shaping of the massage therapy industry as we know it today.  As the healthcare landscape continued to evolve, Swedish Institute added new programs of study and grew from the oldest continuously operating massage therapy school in the country into a multi-purpose institution of allied healthcare. 


Our mission will always be to create a rewarding learning experience that gives our students not only the skills they need to get in the door, but the competitive edge they need to succeed in today's digital world and serve the diverse communities of the Greater New York Metropolitan area.
