Mage Jackie Diamond arrives in the small mining town of Berringa to investigate reports of vicious attacks on sheep and locals.

Meanwhile, the Circus Infinitus has finally returned to Australia, to delight the crowds of Melbourne. When Jackie discovers that the attacks were committed by undead creatures, she decides to seek advice from Professor Abbacus.

An old foe has returned. He has acquired some deadly allies and is hunting a buried fortune. The entire cast of the Circus Infinitus may well be required to fight him and the powerful, ancient being he raises.
