The Spiral Staircase

A summer at Little Sturton, Lincolnshire, allows its reenactors to travel between the 21st and the 12th century at random times through the dark and narrow spiral staircase, closed to tourists, that transports people back and forth, like a time machine or a portal to another time, but the same place.

Lisa visits it in October 1166, a hundred years after the Battle of Hastings. Chloe sees the end of the Twelve Days of Christmas in 1170. Harry goes to the Battle of Alnwick in 1174. Susan goes to 1179, and Chris visits 1184.

A gripping stumble through time and history, with no control on how or when to get home.
