Kam was supposed to be my future. But some loves just refuse to die…

 

I thought things would be simpler when I left Alana behind. And for a little while, they were. 

I fell for Kam.

I found a family. A home. People who loved me for who I was—at least, who I thought I was.

Then it all fell apart.

Now I have something new to cling to. A baby to protect from her, and from the new voice in my head, threatening to make an appearance. She calls herself Veronica, and she wants to complicate things even more. Tear my life apart in new ways.

I’m stronger than either of them know. I won’t let anyone, or anything hurt my baby. But there’s myself to think of too. 

Who I want to be. Who I love. What I want for a future that sometimes, I can’t even begin to envision.

When all of this is over, who is it that I can have a life with?
