Lahore to Delhi

Kapoor family is forced out of their home in Lahore by the Muslims at the time of partition genocide in 1947. The Kapoor patriarch & his elder son have no faith in Gandhi, Nehru & Congress party. They believe that Nehru became Prime Minster with Hindu votes but served Muslims. The Hindus made Gandhi Mahatma but he betrayed us and told us to present our other cheek to the Muslims.
Tired, hungry, and bitter Sat Beer Kapoor & his eldest son Pran Kapoor decide to get their self-respect back by selling the gold jewelry of their wives to buy a one-room tenement in Delhi. The nine members of this family move out of the refugee camp to start their lives in Delhi.
India wept when Gandhi was killed. My family was murdered in front of my eyes. I ran to save myself leaving them to rot in Lahore. Gandhi did not cry for me. Nehru was busy with Edwina to worry about my dead family Leela Pran’s young wife laments.
The father & son have no faith in Nehru’s Government. They start selling clothes by going house to house. Things change with time for the family.
