Publisher Description

The U. S. Government water authorities told us it was impossible. There just wasn’t enough water in the rivers that connect New Mexico and New Orleans to paddle a canoe.

OK, now we were really interested! Who doesn’t like proving somebody wrong. Our thoughts were “anybody can go canoeing down a river that has water in it, and so what if our rivers in the Southwest are dry most of the time. If we are patient and pray for water, it shall come! When the water finally does come, we will be ready and paddle like hell because experience told us the flow won’t last long!”

This is a story about how 2 ordinary middle-aged guys were able to paddle a canoe across some of the driest parts of the United States. Starting near the top of the Rocky Mountains in northern New Mexico, we canoed all the way to New Orleans, a distance of nearly 2000 miles. Lack of water required extreme patience and 21 years to complete!

To allow the reader to fully experience the adventure of our lifetimes, we have created a modern book that contains several one-minute video clips integrated into the text. Let’s head to the put in!
