This book contains over forty of the best-loved fairy stories, beautifully illustrated by Arthur Rackham. This book, together with other titles illustrated by Rackham during the First World War was intended as a patriotic challenge to the Germanic Grimm tradition, however we're spared any nationalistic introduction, and it gets straight into the collection of tales.
English Fairy Tales
I enjoyed this book because of its unpretentious and charming stories. I guess I felt like a child again, transported by the magic of it all.
