A Rosetta Key for Neolithic History: Birth of Phasing—Triadic Generations at Çatalhöyük

Publisher Description

This is an Apple Books audiobook narrated by a digital voice based on a human narrator.

This work extends the author's generational phasing model into the Neolithic, using Çatalhöyük as a case study. By applying the "Triadic Generation" unit of 45 years—child, adult, and elder—Susko reconstructs the settlement's unfolding from its obscure pre-XII beginnings (~7500 BCE) to its peak and eventual dispersal (~5900 BCE). Drawing on archaeological reports, stratigraphic layers, figurines, plaster renewal, imported materials, and symbolic motifs, the study identifies successive cultural phases—emergence, establishment, flourishing, crisis, and universalization.

The narrative highlights not only material evidence (floors, walls, burials, figurines, obsidian mirrors, imported palm leaves, shells, textiles) but also the hidden drama of history: the fragile moments when cultures may take root or vanish. By situating Çatalhöyük within a broader generational framework, the book provides a Rosetta key for comparing Neolithic developments with later historical patterns. (Author's note: This work is an early release, the first part of the full generational sequence at Çatalhöyük.)
