Publisher Description

World-renowned Professor of Neuropsychopharmacology, David Nutt - breaks down the science and effect of alcohol on our health, mood, sleep, productivity, how it travels through our bodies and brains - and explains on a practical level how we can make changes to positively impact our relationship with it and understanding of it; thereby improving our quality of life for the long-term.

He will examine what the future holds for this normalised drug that governs our society and lives but is becoming increasingly unpopular due to its detrimental impact on our wellbeing. Booze Control will do what Matthew Walker did for Sleep and Giulia Enders did for our Gut - and help us make informed choices, at the very least. David will illuminate our minds on this important and timely subject.

Not what expected

I listened to this book about a year after quitting drinking. Although parts of this book are informative, the majority of it seems to be a tutorial on how to make alcohol fit in to your life and how to manage it. It’s an addictive substance..it manages you. If I didn’t know better I’d nearly re start drinking after reading this book. But I do know better. If you’re considering quitting alcohol, do not read this. This is the perfect book if you drink too much, and want an expert to advise you into fooling yourself into thinking you can moderate this.
