Publisher Description
The final masterpiece from the celebrated author of "Crime and Punishment" and "The Idiot."..
This extraordinary novel, Dostoyevsky s last and greatest work, tells the dramatic story of four brothers Dmitri, pleasure-seeking, impatient, unruly . . . Ivan, brilliant and morose . . . Alyosha, gentle, loving, honest . . . and the illegitimate Smerdyakov, sly, silent, cruel. Driven by intense passion, they become involved in the brutal murder of their own father, one of the most loathsome characters in all literature. Featuring the famous chapter, The Grand Inquisitor, Dostoyevsky's final masterpiece is at once a complex character study, a riveting murder mystery, and a fascinating examination of man's morality and the question of God's existence.
Customer Reviews
Is the narrator having a laugh?
This narration might be the single worst I’ve ever heard. It sounds like the man has a speech impediment with the awful delivery with which he stutters the words. I wouldn’t be surprised if this was a joke. Who in their right mind would release such an abomination? If you sample another audiobook of the same novel you will find a night and day difference. This is laughable. I couldn’t imagine listening to this grating voice for 5 minutes let alone tens of hours throughout this audiobook. Apple should really consider removing this atrocity. I wish I could report it for it’s lack of professionalism or straight up degrading narration of such fine material. Avoid!
