1000 Miles

1938. Their ménage a trios splits. Young, naïve and unquestionably in love, the couple are persuaded to work for England’s growing Secret Intelligence Service, recruited just hours before they compete in Italy’s most famous motor race: the 1000 mile Mille Miglia.
Operating as couriers, under the guise of race entrants, their plans quickly go awry. Unexpectedly entrusted with delivering a captured German Enigma encryption machine to SIS agents in Switzerland, fate cruelly intercedes; Italian Fascisti forces suspect treachery, and act harshly.
Unwittingly, and bereft, the third member of the ménage sees events in Italy unfolding. Independently, her own intelligence role proves potentially lethal as she travels a militarily resurgent Germany in compromising company, gathering crucial information before the world descends into chaos.
