A Portrait and a Bullet

Henry Flannigan lives by no rules. He's a man gifted all God's offerings yet he summons chaos to his world. A day of hunting in Montana turns tragic when Henry pulls the trigger, ending the life of a fellow mountaineer. In revenge, Henry's wife is taken hostage, testing her faith and fueling Henry's determination to bring her captors into his scope of destruction. As darkness descends on the mountain and bullets fly, Henry fights to survive amidst the hatred roaming far too freely within him.

But in the small town of Winston, Henry isn't the only aching soul. Carl Milano, barely 22, is haunted by a long-held belief he's never been good enough, and that his future will be more lonely than his past...until he meets Danali, and wonders if a love between them could fill the emptiness inside him, changing them both from who they're not but wish to be.

Each on a path neither chose, Henry and Carl struggle to find some way to live, to love, to belong.
