Publisher Description

Considered one of the most important graphic and satirical humorists of the 20th century in Cuba, Ajubel began his European era in 1991, collaborating as a graphic editorialist for La Vanguardia, Le Monde Diplomatique (Spanish version) and the newspaper El Mundo.

This was the beginning of a period in which, within a few years, he became a reference in the world of editorial and children's illustration, being recognised by prestigious national and international awards, such as the Spanish National Illustration Prize and the Bologna Ragazzi Award.

These drawings, made with nib, Indian ink and occasionally acrylics, are a selection of his works for the press in those early years in Spain and maintain the expressionist aesthetic that characterised him in his Cuban period.

He currently lives in Valencia, Spain, where he has his graphic design and illustration studio.
