Masked, Amanda glided into the mansion on his arm. The opulence of her setting astonished her. Everywhere she saw beauty and wealth. Everyone was wearing masks, but she could sense that she was surrounded by the very famous, the very beautiful, and the very wealthy.

Turning quickly, she saw he held the other end of the black leather leash he had just secured to her neck. He looked down at her, as if daring her to protest. When she said nothing, he smiled.
